Software designed to empower teams

A Commitment System empowers teams to commit to and execute the right work, at the right time, right across the site.

All work is planned, coordinated, visible, safe and productive. Operations shift gear into an ultra-responsive plan-do-check-act cycle, driving better decision-making and continuous improvement.

As a result, more of the plan gets done more often: increasing production, decreasing cost, improving compliance to plan, and making operations safer.

Commitment System

Our software seamlessly pulls together the right information, from the right places and presents it to the right people at the right time – so they get what they need to be productive every shift.

We work with site teams to understand their processes, discover what matters, confirm requirements, then implement and train their people using our specialist skills and experience. We do this both remotely and by spending time with people on site.

This unique, fully integrated, operational management backbone helps operations move from a mish mash of complex spreadsheets, paper and whiteboards to a fully integrated Commitment System in a matter of weeks.

The Future is Digital

Our easy-to-use suite of software replaces the disconnected cluster of manual whiteboards, paper and spreadsheets most operations use to try and manage day-to-day operations.

Commit Works Problem Solved

Digital transformation initiatives often falter as they lack a solid foundation of control and visibility. Our suite of software is easy to use because we have retained the human side of visual management whilst digitising the tools.

Software, integrated into a behavioural system

Clients love that they don’t just get software from us, they also receive a tailored Commitment System handbook that describes how the software works to support their frontline MOS or wiring.

This document shows how your team can use our tools in planning, pre-start, handover, short interval control, realignment, review and improvement meetings – this is the instruction manual for your Frontline Commitment System.

Truly integrated work management

A way to understand the breadth of our product suite is by seeing how it maps onto a typical management operating system or the “wiring” that is often used to manage operations.

Our tools cover all of the elements of a typical MOS or wiring system. This means it’s much easier to implement and sustain than the typical tools sites are using now.

"Of all the various bits of software that can be introduced to the workforce, I would suggest Commit Works is among the most disruptive and with the highest impact potential."

Mark FranklinManaging Director, First Principles Consulting

"Commit Works is the backbone of our operations and played its part in achieving a record year in 2017."

Glen BrittonHead of Underground Coal Operations, Anglo American

Connect all your MOS / wiring in one system

Instead of disconnected spreadsheets and whiteboards our tools work together to ensure all frontline work is connected to the intentions of management and planners each shift.

Our solutions enable rapid, sustainable productivity improvements because teams use them to:

We typically interface with planning systems such as deswik, SAP, Ellipse, Pulse, EPS or RPM to bring in the work that has been planned in these tools.

We can also connect to fleet management systems such as Pitram, Minetec, Newtrax, SCADA or PLOD sheet tools to bring in data that enables short interval control (SIC) and tells us whether tasks are on target or have been completed.

Integrate IT/OT systems

Commit Works is designed to help everyone on site collaborate with each other so that they can give well-coordinated shift plans to crews every shift.

The key to this is that everyone is working in the same system and can see the work that is going to affect each other. This breaks down the silos and greatly reduces the opportunity for clashes and waste.

The product is used in weekly planning, daily commitment, preshift and handover meetings to ensure everyone understands the plan.

Empower coordinated teams

CiteOps is used alongside CiteVis throughout the shift by supervisors, crew and the control room to ensure everyone is working on the plan.

Finally the data about the work that has been completed and the progress made against KPIs is made available to teams in reports that are used for daily and weekly review meetings.

This data is also provided in an analytics package along with any other data you want to report on so that reliability and business improvement teams can do their work.

What people say about us

Andy GreigFormer President of Mining & Metals Business, Bechtel

Commit Works takes planning down to the detail level for the supervisor and it’s completely different to anything that exists in the mining or construction industry, so it’s going to be completely disruptive.

Mark FranklinManaging Director, First Principles Consulting

Of all the various bits of software that can be introduced to the workforce, I would suggest Commit Works is amongst the most disruptive and with the highest impact potential.

Dolf WirthBusiness Improvement Leader Consultant

Having implemented many systems including Oracle and a $200 mil SAP program, as well as bespoke systems, I can say that the Commit Works system is one of the best I have seen for driving results – easy to use and a fraction of the price.

Glen BrittonHead of Underground Coal Operations, Anglo American

Commit Works is the backbone of our operations and played it's part in us achieving a record year in 2017.

Alan WillisRio Tinto

When the site is using Commit Works correctly, it is a great tool making everyone aware of planned work. It is also not a difficult product to use.

Justice NyandeniAnglo American

Using the system I have found better results in terms of planning which resulted to good production performance.

Sean McCarthySuperintendent Engineering, Barrick Hemlo

The project had an immediate impact on underground production, especially production drilling. There were many examples during the first couple of weeks where the control room supervisor was able to identify an emerging issue and redeploy resources to minimize the impact on production. Pre Commit Works any one of these issues would have cost the mine half a shift of procudtion from 2 or 3 pieces of equipment.

Matt JurakDevelopment Superintendent, Glencore

We've increased meters by about 30% and are now hitting budget for the first time, we're just a lot more organized than we were.

Scott DobbieProduction Manager

The key is that everyone can see 'plan vs actual' all over the site so there's no hiding.

Ian ButlerGeneral Manager, Barrick Hemlo

Last week we would have had no idea if we were working in the priority headings, this week we do and it's already paying off in increased meters where we need them most.

Alisha BaxFormer Continuous Improvement Manager

The transition from an Excel-based macro enabled spreadsheet to Commit Works was a revolution, by replacing large numbers of spreadsheets and whiteboards it provides full transparency to any level within the organisation.

Marcus Lindahgumede

Commit Works makes planning and scheduling much easier and enables work required to be brought together under one platform.
